WASTEDBy Kae TempestThree friends. One night. A lifetime of things left unsaid.
Ted, Charlotte and Dan have been best mates since school. They’ve shared nights out, bad decisions, big dreams and the messy business of growing up. But somewhere along the way, life got in the way.
Now, on the night of the summer solstice, they come together again. As the night stretches on, old friendships are tested, buried feelings surface and the question they’ve been avoiding becomes impossible to ignore:
What happened to the people we thought we were going to become?
Kae Tempest’s WASTED is a raw, funny and fiercely poetic exploration of friendship, love, loss, ambition and the fear of wasting your life. Set against the pulse of a generation coming of age, it asks what happens when the future you imagined starts to feel further and further away.
Performed in an immersive, music-filled space, WASTED brings the audience right into the heart of the night — where memories collide with dreams, the music gets louder, and three people are forced to confront the lives they’ve chosen.
And the night doesn't start the same way twice.
Every performance will feature a different Manchester-based spoken word artist, bringing their own voice, perspective and poetry to the space before the show. A different artist. A different voice. A different way into the world of WASTED.
For anyone who’s ever looked back and wondered, “What if?”
