Since Fugazi took this stage a little over 30 years ago the landscape of this city and its politics have changed substantially. Today DC and the National Mall are more highly policed and surveilled than ever. The cost of living has skyrocketed in this city. ICE agents roam the streets abducting our community members. If there was ever a time for punk music to make its triumphant return to the Sylvan Theater, it is now. If there was ever a time for punks to throw their support behind mutual aid, it is now. DC belongs to the punks and it is time for this city to be reminded of that.
