Vijayadashmi Utsav - Birmingham Dussehra Mela 2026

As a vibrant and eclectic community in Birmingham, we found that there was a singular opportunity to organise and celebrate the symbolic burning of the Ravan effigy as part of our Dussehra celebrations. It is an important cultural tradition that should be remembered by future generations and Dussehra's message is universal, allowing everyone to share in its values and indulge in its essence.

To our knowledge, Ravan Dahan has not taken place in Birmingham before. This initiative is led by dedicated community volunteers who aim to make it an annual celebration and spreads the timeless and universal message of good's ultimate triumph over evil.

This event stands as an open invitation for everyone to join in, learn something new and enjoy the spirit of unity and humanity- together.
