Cashmere Mitts: Sew & Upcycle Workshop
Give your favourite cashmere jumper a second life!
Cashmere is beautiful and soft, but it can develop holes or become damaged over time. Instead of throwing it away, why not turn it into something lovely and useful?
In this hands-on workshop, we’ll learn how to salvage and upcycle cashmere jumpers and other suitable cashmere knitwear into cosy fingerless mitts. You’ll discover how to make the most of the fabric, work around damaged areas and transform a much-loved garment into a beautiful new accessory.
This is a creative and sustainable way to reduce textile waste, save precious materials and give your cashmere a new purpose. The workshop is suitable for beginners, with guidance throughout the process.
Materials for one pair of mitts will be provided. If you have a cashmere jumper or another cashmere garment at home that you would like to rescue, bring it along if you’d like to make additional pairs.
