About this Event
Join us for a hands-on journey through the machines that shaped our digital world - and discover the part Wales played in building it.
In this 90-minute workshop, young people will get their hands on real computers from the past, including the BBC Micro and the Dragon 32 - a home computer designed and built right here in Wales, in Port Talbot, just down the road. You'll type your first lines of code the way programmers did in the 1980s, and play the games that started it all.
Along the way, we'll crack the secret language of computers: binary and see how early programmers stored their work on punch cards - programming you can hold in your hand!
Whether you're a budding coder or just curious about how we got from room-sized machines to the phone in your pocket, there's something here for you. Come and celebrate the great things we make in Wales - past, present, and future.
Activities suit children aged roughly 6 and up. Under-14s must be accompanied by an adult.. All equipment provided.
