A Taboo Club conversation.
There are things we say easily.
And then there are the things we think, feel and experience but rarely, if ever, say out loud.
Sex
Shame
Our bodies
Hormones
Motherhood
Not wanting motherhood Relationships. Ageing. Desire
Pleasure
Resentment
Jealousy
Identity
The expectations placed on us as women.
And all the messy, complicated, beautiful things in between.
Things Women Don’t Usually Say Out Loud is an evening for the conversations that usually happen behind closed doors if they happen at all.
There is no expert at the front of the room.
No panel. No presentation.
No one is there to teach you, fix you, or tell you what you should think or feel.
And this isn’t a traditional sharing circle.
Taboo Club simply creates the room. The conversation belongs to the women in it.
Throughout the evening, you’ll have the option to anonymously write down anything you’d like to bring into the conversation.
A question.
A problem.
A confession.
An experience.
Something you’re struggling with.
Something you’ve never told anyone.
Or simply:
“Does anyone else feel this way?”
Fold it up and place it in The Taboo Box🔥
No names are required and submissions won’t be attributed to anyone.
We’ll draw from the box throughout the evening and use what’s inside to open up conversations in the room.
If you want to speak for yourself, you’re welcome to do that too.
Speak up. Ask the question. Tell the story. Share your experience. Add another perspective.
Or grab a chai, find somewhere comfortable and simply listen.
There is never any pressure to share.
This is also a highly confidential space.
What is shared in the room stays in the room.
By attending, we ask that you respect the privacy of every woman present and do not repeat personal stories or identifying details outside of the event.
Come curious. Come open.
Come exactly as you are.
And maybe leave having finally said the thing you thought you couldn’t.
