The Worldwide Ukrainian Play Readings brings Ukrainian stories to Arizona! The Ukrainian Theater of Arizona and the UNWLA Branch 3 invite you to discover Guardians, a powerful play by Ukrainian playwright Dmytro Ternovyi, presented as part of the global initiative the Worldwide Ukrainian Play Readings, founded by John Freedman, in partnership with the Center for International Theatre Development (CITD).
Follow the story of Nastya and Andriy, two teenagers whose dreams lead them into an extraordinary world of ancient Ukrainian warriors.
Deep inside a cave beyond the Carpathian Mountains, an army of Ukraine’s greatest knights lies asleep, waiting for the day they may awaken to defend their homeland. Along their journey, Nastya and Andriy encounter fifteen Guardians of Ukraine and discover the myths and legends of different Ukrainian regions.
Step into the world of Ukrainian legends through theatrical performances, music, immersive soundscapes, and evocative visuals.
Join us on November 22 at 1:30 PM for a theatrical reading of Guardians, an evening of Ukrainian culture, storytelling, music, and refreshments. Connect with the community and celebrate the richness of Ukrainian heritage!
