About this Event
In 2025, Acas published the largest ever study of individual workplace conflict in Great Britain, its findings are stark. A record 44% of working-age adults reported experiencing conflict at work in the past year, with disputes increasingly linked to performance management, personal relationships, bullying, discrimination and inclusion. The human and organisational costs are significant, from rising stress and poor mental health to lost productivity, sickness absence and staff turnover.
The research also reveals a critical gap: while informal conversations are the most common and effective way to resolve conflict, many managers lack the confidence and skills to intervene early. Too often, issues escalate or are left unresolved – particularly in cases involving performance concerns, direct reports, or disabled employees.
These findings underline an urgent need for better conflict management capability across organisations.
The UK Mediation Conference, taking place on 29th June 2027 in London, is designed to meet this challenge head on. The conference will equip delegates with practical skills and knowledge to address the very issues highlighted in the Acas research – from managing difficult conversations and preventing escalation, to handling sensitive disputes inclusively and effectively.
In a workplace landscape where conflict is more complex than ever, the need for a deeper understanding of conflict is more important than ever.
Join us at the UK Mediation Conference and gain the essential skills to turn conflict into constructive outcomes.
