About this Event
Polish-born drummer and percussionist Tymek Jozwiak is known for his versatile approach to contemporary jazz, free improvisation and cross-genre collaboration. Based in Birmingham, he has worked with leading improvisers including Paul Dunmall and Evan Parker, while his musical curiosity has led him to perform in settings ranging from large ensembles to early music projects. He will be playing alongside two mystery guests, who will only be revealed to him just before the gig!
Taking composed elements and reshaping them through improvisation, Uroboro take you on musical journeys and flights into the unknown. Their dramatic arrangements and sinuous riffs expand and explode into free playing, both fierce and tender. From this, beautiful songs emerge, and sometimes spoken word calms everything down. Uroboro are a team of top-drawer northern UK players making big, romantic music. Uroboro are Keith Jafrate on saxophone, Faith Brackenbury on violin, Anton Hunter on guitar, Laura Cole on piano and Johnny Hunter on drums.
