Join the Coalition for University Equity for an evening of reflection, learning, and remembrance.
We will explore the history and significance of Trans Day of Remembrance. Presentations from Dr. Susan Harper and Reverend Kelli Clement of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Ames will discuss supporting and working alongside the transgender community during times of challenge and resilience.
Following the presentations, participants will have the opportunity to engage in small group discussions and reflection.
The event will also include a remembrance activity where attendees may honor those who have been lost by writing names on memorial candles.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Presented in partnership with Ames Public Library and the Coalition for University Equity.
