About this Event
Explore, create, and connect in nature's boundless playground. Our curated day events are designed to immerse you in the beauty of nature while igniting your creative spark.
We’re heading to Walthamstow Marshes & Wetlands for a slow, gentle birdwatching stroll. The kind where we’re not rushing anywhere — we’re just vibing with the reeds, the water, the sky… and taking our time to see who’s out there 🐦🌾
This walk is part birdwatch, part “let me actually arrive in my body for a second”. We’ll be weaving in forest bathing (shinrin-yoku) inspired prompts — little sensory pauses to help you tune in, breathe deeper, and notice what’s around you (and what’s been sitting on your shoulders).
We’re excited this one is powered by Teva, the ultimate companion for adventure, where play isn’t just recreation, it’s part of life. Teva sends you all a joyful reminder that the outdoors is our playground — from everyday neighbourhood wanders to the big, bold adventures — and it’s worth protecting so we can all keep getting outside to play.
This walk is our little love letter to that: joy, connection, wonder, and showing up for nature together. And because no playground adventure is complete without comfy feet, all attendees will be kitted out in Teva’s brand new Hurricane Collection, which are designed and tested to go wherever curiosity leads!
We planned the route using Komoot because we love a well-planned wander that still leaves room for wonder 🤝🌍
It’ll be a gentle pace, plenty of stops, zero pressure to perform. Just you, community, and a lil bit of wild.
The walk will be led by Toni, she is a Mountain Training qualified Lowland Leader and is outdoor first aid trained.

About Touch Grass
Touch Grass is an outdoor community for queer women, trans and non-binary people of colour.
We are committed to fostering community growth through outdoor gatherings and wellness-focused trips that encourage us to rekindle our relationship with nature. Our immersive experiences go beyond relaxation — they're about empowerment, healing, and forging meaningful connections.
Our vision is for queer people of colour to see the outdoors as a space where we belong. A 2020 report by Friends of the Earth found that nearly 40% of people from minority ethnic backgrounds in England live in the most green space-deprived neighbourhoods, compared with only 14% of white people — and that people from minority ethnic backgrounds are significantly less likely to spend time in the countryside than white people. We want to change this. We deserve joyful, safe access to the emotional well-being and physical health benefits of nature too.
We believe creativity and nature go hand in hand, which is why most of our events encourage you to embrace nature and your inner creative spirit.
