About this Event
TheStoryContinues…
A live music showcase by Jelani Watson and Shurnelle Spencer
TheStoryContinues… is a creative concept developed by Jelani Watson and Shurnelle Spencer as a space for their individual and collaborative musical expressions. The showcase brings their musical worlds together through a blend of original compositions and reimagined covers, drawing from jazz, gospel, R&B and beyond.
More than a night of music, this event marks the beginning of a collaborative showcase series celebrating creativity, musical exploration and the stories that connect us.
The evening also introduces a new chapter in Jelani’s musical journey: TheirStory..., a collective of intergenerational musicians inspired by the connections, mentorship and shared experiences he has cultivated over the years. Bringing together musicians across generations, TheirStory... seeks to strengthen connections within Black musical communities through collaboration, mentorship and the exchange of knowledge, both on and off the stage.
Join us for an evening of authentic musical expression, shared stories and meaningful connections as we celebrate where we have been, where we are and the stories still waiting to be told.
Because every sound has a story, and TheStoryContinues...
