故事簡介：
2021年，人稱「公子」的多元文化人、大學講師被院校和媒體封殺，孑然一身賣屋移英，提早於52歲過他的疑似退休生活。
兩年後，他在某個港人集會重遇舊生Sonia，27歲的她剛剛碩士畢業，在Kingston Museum 實習中，準備在倫敦文化藝術界發展事業。二人相約在Kingston，她希望在博物館策劃一個連繫兩地文化記憶的展覽，向公子請教意見；然而，當公子望著一件件展品，以及眼前的 Sonia，思緒卻漸漸飄向自己的前半生，停留在 1989 年一個紅色電話亭裡⋯⋯
《第二年：公子》由一個相當日常普通、咖啡店發生嘅對話開始，討論城市發展同歷史點樣塑造香港人身份，經歷過嘅每場社會運動係咪能夠轉化成我哋嘅根？歷史會點樣定義呢段時期嘅幾代香港人？被歷史擊潰嘅學者孤獨一人糾結喺內疚嘅旋渦裡面，前面有冇撫平創傷嘅出口呢？
The play reading begins with an ordinary, everyday conversation in a café, exploring how urban development and history have shaped Hongkongers’ identities. Can the social movements we have lived through become part of our roots? How will history define the generations of Hongkongers who have lived through this era?
Haunted by history, a once-accomplished scholar finds himself alone, trapped in a whirlpool of guilt and remorse. Is there a way forward—a path towards healing and the easing of old wounds?

本劇為兩度榮獲香港劇評人獎最佳編劇胡境陽全新劇本創作計劃《我們的五年》五部曲第二部。
五部曲以「BNO Visa 5＋1計劃」為背景，借五個一小時左右短劇，講述由移英落地第一年到申請永居第五年期間，唔同處境嘅香港人喺呢段過渡期間對生活、身份、社群連結、平等同自由五個面向經歷嘅思考與掙扎、盼望與追求。
This play is the second episode in Our Five Years, a five-part new playwriting project by Wu King-Yeung (胡境陽), a two-time winner of IATC (HK)Critics Awards.
Set against the backdrop of the UK’s BNO Visa 5+1 scheme, the five-part series comprises five short plays, each approximately one hour long. Spanning the journey from the first year of settling in the UK to applying for indefinite leave to remain in the fifth year, the series explores how Hongkongers from different walks of life reflect on and grapple with five key aspects of their lives during this period of transition: life, identity, community and connection, equality, and freedom. Through their struggles, hopes and aspirations, the plays examine what it means to rebuild a life and find a sense of belonging in a new home.
