The Ugly, the Bad and the Good: Five Years and 31 Countries Sailing the Caribbean, Jerry Norton
When Jerry Norton and Sophie Newman cast off from Plymouth in July 2021 aboard Khamsin, a brand-new 51ft Beneteau Oceanis, the plan was simple: one season in the Caribbean and then home. Five years later, they still haven’t returned.
After dropping the hook in 31 countries, sheltering in five hurricane holes and completing two circumnavigations of the Caribbean, they look back on the outright ugly, the not-so-bad, the lessons they wish they had known from the outset, and, above all, the extraordinary experiences that have made the adventure far richer than they could ever have imagined.

Ordering Food on Lecture nights
• Please let us know in advance if you are planning to order food. You can indicate this when you book.
• On Wednesday lecture nights, the bar opens at 18:00 and food orders can be placed from then.
• If you order in good time, it's usually possible to eat before the talk begins at 19:00.
• There is the option to eat when the talk finishes, at 20:30 If you place your order before the talk begins, you will be served more promptly.
• Depending on numbers, food may be served buffet-style.
• There's always a range of dishes, including vegetarian. If you have a special dietary requirement, please indicate this on the booking form.
• Please note it is not possible to book to eat at a specific time. We leave it to you to place your order at the bar when you arrive.
