Marking 60 years since the Aberfan disaster, The Silent Volunteer is a moving play by Sue Bevan exploring the vital role of volunteers in the aftermath and the lasting impact on mining communities. Performed by a cast personally connected to the tragedy, it challenges the idea of “an act of God” and asks what lessons have truly been learned for communities facing future risks today.
