The Ranzo Boys invite you to celebrate the release of their first full-length album, Steal It Back! Expect complex vocal harmonies, deep historical pulls, and new arrangements of beloved traditional songs. Stick around after the show for a bit of social singing, Exceedingly Good Song Night-style. The Ranzo Boys -- Lafayette Matthews (he/him), Jules Peiperl (they/them), and Lindsey Smith (they/she) -- are traditional folk singers putting the queerness back into maritime and folk music. Their buzzy English harmonies, yearning ballads, rhythmic sea chanteys, and droney instrumental backing have charmed audiences across the United States. Steal It Backis the band's first full-length album. The band's previous EP, the Off the Path Sessions, was recorded for public radio and later broadcast as a national NPR special, and includes three world premiere settings of historical texts. Formed in New York City in 2020, they have performed at the Connecticut Sea Music Festival, the Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival, the New England Folk Festival, TransTrad Festival, and the South Street Seaport Museum.
