How does where we live shape our health and wellbeing?
Join Evidence Islington and local partners for a free, interactive event exploring the connections between health and home, neighbourhood and the wider borough of Islington.
The event is organised around three "crossroads" of health and place.
🏠 Home
Explore findings from local research into overcrowding and discover practical Small Space Hacks developed with an architect and residents. Take part in creative activities including decorating your own peg or storage container and making a drawer freshener to take home.
🎵 Neighbourhood
Take part in From Isolation to Inspiration: Research, Rhythm & Resilience, an interactive workshop exploring the causes and effects of loneliness and social isolation, discussing ways to strengthen community connections, and collaboratively creating a song celebrating belonging, hope and resilience.
🗺️ Borough
Discover our Islington Wellbeing Map and explore how different places across the borough influence health and wellbeing. Add your own experiences to the map and learn more about what local residents told us through the Islington Wellbeing Index.
Whether you're an Islington resident, community organisation, student, researcher, or simply interested in creating healthier communities, we'd love to see you there.
You are free to drop in for some of the event to do one activity or stay for the whole time and do all of them!
You can also explore the exhibitions of one of Islington's newest cultrual hubs, the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration, for free.
