The West Yorkshire Savoyards make a welcome return to The Georgian Theatre Royal with the wonderful, swashbuckling Gilbert and Sullivan masterpiece, The Pirates of Penzance. This audience favourite, packed full of sentimental pirates, a blundering policeman, absurd adventures and improbable paradoxes contains some of Sullivan's most memorable melodies and Gilbert’s quick-fire humour. The packed audience was thrilled by the company's visit last year, so this year there will be two shows, a matinee at 2pm and an evening performance at 7.30pm. Directed by comic-actor and ‘patter-man’, Graham Weston, the two shows include full sets, costumes and professional orchestra conducted by musical director, Oliver Longstaff.
