The Outcast Band are a high‑energy folk‑punk outfit known for their powerful live performances, politically charged songwriting, and a sound that fuses driving acoustic rhythms with electric violin, pounding drums and raw, impassioned vocals. Their music sits at the crossroads of folk tradition, punk defiance, and anthemic, emotionally honest storytelling. Think The Waterboys, The Levellers or The Saw DoctorsEmerging from the UK grassroots scene, The Outcast Band have built a reputation for intense, communal shows that blur the line between gig and rally. Their songs tackle social injustice, personal struggle and the human cost of modern life, delivered with the urgency and conviction that has earned them a loyal following across the country.
The band have released multiple recordings, appeared at festivals nationwide, and shared stages with leading acts in the folk‑punk and alt‑folk world. After more than fifteen years below deck, The Outcast Band return with a new album, 'Anchors, Mermaids & Sails', a powerful indie-folk-rock album shaped by time, tide, and distance. Blending raw energy with intimate, reflective moments, it explores love, loss, disillusionment and hope, resulting in a long-awaited fourth album that is both atmospheric and deeply resonant.
Committed to a DIY ethos and a message‑driven approach, The Outcast Band continue to stand out as one of the most authentic and compelling voices in the UK’s alternative folk landscape.
Born in the shadows of Reading’s abbey ruins, support comes from The Abbey Ghosts are an eight‑piece folk‑punk collective built for shared voices and crowded rooms. Their sound is a riot of mandolin, banjo, tenor guitar, fiddle and big‑hearted punk energy — a swirling, communal noise that turns every gig into a shout‑along celebration.
