Beginning in 2024, we recognized the need to center the next generation of Lincoln Brigade descendants and have dedicated an annual gathering to the grandchildren of the brigadistas.

We are bringing the grands together once again with our community on Saturday, December 12th, with the theme of The Music Of The Movement. We're going to be talking about the music that has been such an integral part of the social movements that have shaped our lives and histories. Watch out for more information on the programming as we get closer to the date.

We’ll end the event with more singing and a reception. Please join us!

Shantha Susman is a granddaughter of Bill Susman, a veteran of the Abraham Lincoln Brigades and a founder of ALBA. She has worked as a communications strategist for social justice and human rights organizations for over 15 years. Born and raised in New York City, she studied English, Spanish, and theater at Cornell University and completed an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Minnesota. She is currently working on a novel.

Max Bennett-Parker is a musician and performer based in New York City. He has music directed and acted in theatrical productions at theatres and venues across the US. He’s recorded with bands and artists including James Rabbit, Wild & Blue, Los Hooligans, and Sasha Chimaera. He is the grandson of Brigadista Max Parker, and is committed to carrying on the legacy of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade.
