Step inside our historic guesthouse for an immersive, family-friendly Halloween experience filled with ghostly characters, eerie hallways, gothic décor and a few surprises lurking around every corner.
Explore the hotel as roaming zombies and undead hotel staff bring the building to life (or perhaps back from the dead). Follow the trick-or-treat trail, have your fortune revealed with a tarot reading, visit our Halloween face-painting station and discover themed activities throughout the hotel.
Come dressed for the occasion, with prizes up for grabs for the best adult, child and family costumes.
Throughout the evening, the bar will be open serving spooky drinks and signature Halloween cocktails, alongside a special themed food menu available to purchase.
Expect atmospheric lighting, cobweb-covered rooms, swirling bats, fog, strange sounds and plenty of photo opportunities as The Metropole becomes a haunted hotel for one night only.

Meet Psychic Sarah
Sarah Barry, aka Psychic Sarah (they/she), is a seasoned professional psychic and tarot reader who has worked full-time in their craft since 2003. Known for an open, grounded and non-judgemental approach, Sarah keeps readings real while helping people navigate life’s bigger questions.
Sarah will be offering five-minute tarot readings for $20, payable by cash or card, on a first-come, first-served basis during The Metropole Halloween event.
Arrive early, add your name to the list, then enjoy the Halloween festivities before and after your reading!

All that trick-or-treating is hungry work!
This Halloween, The Metropole is serving up a frightfully delicious menu to keep little monsters, hungry ghosts and grown-up ghouls well fed throughout the festivities.
Our kitchen has conjured up some spooky twists on comforting favourites, with something to satisfy every appetite.
Spooky Mains | $20 each
- The Black Bun Burger: A delicious burger served in a striking charcoal bun with crispy chips.
- Squid Ink Spaghetti & Meatballs: A hauntingly dark twist on an Italian favourite.
- Loaded Monster Fries: Golden fries piled high with bacon and melted cheese.
- Witches' Brew Tomato Soup: Rich tomato soup served with a three-cheese toastie, finished with truffle salt.
Devilish Desserts | $14 each
- Eton Bloody Mess: A wickedly playful twist on the classic Eton Mess.
- Death by Chocolate Brownie: Rich chocolate brownie served with ice cream. Sinfully good!
Whether you're fuelling up before the frights or settling in for a bite between Halloween adventures, our historic Dining Room is the perfect place to enjoy a little spooky indulgence.
Available Saturday 31 October 2026 only. Note all meals are an optional add-on as part of our Halloween experience. Meals can be ordered directly from the dining room between Noon - 7pm.
