CAN SATIRE SAVE US? | Fiona Wright and Kate Mildenhall in conversation with Beejay Silcox

When in doubt, make ‘em laugh! The best satire edges towards the absurd while remaining grounded in human experience, and the best humour either punches up, or demonstrates an author’s capacity to laugh at themselves. In The Hiding Place and K*ll Your Boomers, Kate Mildenhall and Fiona Wright achieve both, while offering plot and character- driven page turners that keep readers guessing to the very last page.
Tackling class, real estate, privilege, marriage, parenthood and accidental murder, these imaginative writers deliver satire in spades, without ever losing compassion for their characters. Don’t miss their wit and critique, in a conversation led by incisive literary mind Beejay Silcox.
