As a small insight of what this course will offer, the day is aimed at vets dealing with beef cattle and is designed to cover the theory behind all aspects of their nutrition, from silage and grass grazing, concentrate supplementation and trace elements. We will discuss the metabolic needs of cattle at different stages as well as how to analyse and evaluate their diet and work through how to overcome the challenges faced when the quality is poorer than expected.
This course is tailor made for vets in rural practices wishing to advance their knowledge and increase their confidence when
discussing nutrition in beef cattle.
Course lecturer for the day is Rhidian Jones, a highly qualified livestock consultant who graduated from the University of Aberystwyth with a HND and BSc in Agriculture.
