About this Event
Fairy lights, frosty air and a city full of things that would rather you didn't ask about them. Join us for a brand-new Christmas ghost walk through the heart of Birmingham, where the festive glow hides some very un-festive history.
Over 90 minutes, you'll discover the stories of two stonemasons who never clocked off, a Victorian mayor who seems to have stayed on, a pub landlord who still makes his presence felt, and railway ghosts lurking in the station. You'll hear how Dickens stood in Birmingham Town Hall and read A Christmas Carol to a packed audience, and then see where the city's own riots, burials and bull-baiting left their mark.
It's fun, morbid and properly factual. We'll tell you what's documented, what's legend and what's just very good folklore, and you can decide for yourself what's haunting the market tonight.
Wrap up warm, bring a friend (ideally one who's braver than you), and join us for a different kind of Christmas outing.
