The Community Creator Association Gala closes our 3rd annual iteration of The Regular Week. This is an evening to benefit the Community Creator Association, a charitable initiative run by The Regular and fiscally sponsored by Spur Local! Join us for an evening built for the people who make community happen. The folks who host and run karaoke nights, bingo nights, trivia nights, and all sorts of awesome special events in DC. Whether you're a bar owner, a trivia host, or a KJ, a social league manager or black shirt, this is a night to celebrate you and all you are doing to keep third spaces alive in a world that needs them.K Bird Bar, within studio theatre, will be our home for the evening. The evening will open with a cocktail hour and move into the Creator Awards, honoring hosts and organizers whose leagues, nights, and gatherings brought people together across the past year in ways that stood out from the crowd.
Vibe: expect the kind of room where the person running your Tuesday trivia meets the person running your Sunday bocce games, and shares a toast with the GM and bartender at your favorite karaoke venue — introductions that turn into next year's collaborations. In the process we'll hope to strengthen the community of the people who build community.
Dress the part, attire is semi-formal. Just bring your best vibes. Guests are also welcome as this event is open to all. So bring the people you build with and for. There will be
About the Community Creator Association
All proceeds from this event will go to support The Community Creator Association. The Community Creator Association is a new charitable initiative of The Regular, which owns and operates SPRK Trivia (formerly Cap City and Capital Trivia), United Karaoke (including District Karaoke), and Major League Bocce (including DC Bocce). We noticed that people who create community don't receive nearly the same support and infrastructure as digital creators. Our mission with the Community Creator Association is to change that. We help Community Creators more efficiently run their businesses, invest in them with real money and services and time, and build technologies to help them cut costs. Things we know work because we use them ourselves. But we also recognized that there's more needed. The Community Creator Association will:
* Build technologies to support members working with The Regular at low cost
* Offer sample contracts, legal resources,, and more to Community Creators anywhere in the United States in which The Regular operates
* Create community for Community Creators to build stronger ties and collaborate together
* Advocate with local governments in cities in which we operate to ensure that local grants and funds are made available not just to bars, festivals, and artists, but also to the trivia hosts, karaoke hosts, etc. that keep people coming together week after week
As this is an early initiative this Gala will also be a chance for members to sign up and make their voices heard so that we can shape this together!
Whether you run a 200-person league or a six-person book club, this night is a thank-you to everyone who chose to build something in public. Come join us for a night of fun and celebration!
Attendance is limited. Creators, partners, and guests of the Community Creator Association are welcome.
