About this Event
"We Keep Us" is an interactive dance/theater performance that using movement, playback theater and storytelling to unpack complex social issues in joyful community.
The Belonging Resident Company (BRC) is a groundbreaking performance ensemble, originally hosted by the Othering and Belonging Institute and now resident at Destiny Arts Center, that centers BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ artists, facilitators, and musicians on the mission to make the revolution of belonging irresistible. Through contemporary and hip-hop dance, movement theater, playback theater, and radical imagination, we aim to foster embodied experiences of belonging and dismantle systems of oppression.
BRC exists to create spaces for healing and solidarity, uplift a vision of belonging without othering and activate embodied strategies for collective liberation. By transforming how people experience belonging, we challenge exclusionary structures and advocate for justice and equity across all social contexts.
