A culture of poets, painters, dancers, DJs, producers and innovators who built their own platforms, created their own opportunities and found their own audiences. Often without institutional recognition, funding or permission.
And yet, its contribution to Scotland’s cultural history remains largely overlooked.

Introducing THE ART SCHOOL: An Exhibition Celebrating 40 Years of Scottish Hip Hop Culture.
Part exhibition. Part cultural gathering. Part old-school club night.
An evening of live performances, DJs, art, exhibitions, talks, stalls and a celebration of the people who helped build this culture.
Whether you were there from the beginning or know absolutely nothing about Scottish hip hop, you're invited.
This isn't just about nostalgia. It's about recognising an artistic tradition that deserves its place in Scotland's cultural story.
