About this Event
About this event: Impactful storytelling isn't a talent some people are born with. It's a skill you can train, built from your own natural strengths rather than a borrowed script. In this session, Nicole from The Speech Republic will show you how to find the story that's genuinely yours, and how to tell it with enough clarity and conviction that people remember it.
Think of the moments where this matters: presenting a hard people decision to senior leadership and needing them to actually act on it, presenting engagement survey results to managers or explaining a policy change to a team that's already anxious and needs to trust you, not just hear you. Different situations, same underlying skill.
Why join? Because most people don't struggle with what to say. They struggle with how to make it land, and how to stay authentic while doing it.
What we'll cover:
- What separates a story that's remembered from one that's just delivered
- How to build your message from your own natural strengths, not a formula
- Practical techniques you can use in your very next conversation
The Speech Republic has spent 20 years coaching leaders and professionals across business, politics, science and public life. Expect a practical session (their training theatre approach means you'll spend most of the time doing and trying again, not sitting and listening), real peer exchange, and a drink with your crowd after.
Who should attend: If you’re working in People & Culture and your job involves influencing people, this is for you!

The idea behind our People Community Meetups:
We know it can be lonely figuring this stuff out on your own, and we believe you don't need an expensive multi day course to learn something useful. That's why we run these Meetups. The idea is simple: affordable learning with a real chance to connect with peers. Practical and interactive, leaving you with something you can use at work the next morning. We run a Meetup every month. Got an idea for a theme or speaker, or want to co host with us? We'd love to hear from you.
A note on our pricing:
We ask a small amount for these Meetups to cover food, drinks, our time and, most importantly, to pay our speakers. The price sometimes varies from what you're used to. That's usually because a Meetup is sponsored by the speaker, or it's a special edition.
