About this Event
Improv comedy from your hosts Swipe Right, three guest acts we're excited about and a jam at which everyone is welcome. All for free at the excellent Shoreditch Balls - which also has golf, pizza and table football - to which the nearest Tube is Old Street.
Doors 7.45pm, show 8-10pm with an interval about halfway through.
Tickets are free and reservable right here, and this is our line-up for November:
When Harry Met Aly: An Improvised Love Story
We're obsessed with love stories, and we want to make one with you.
Each show, we take a spark from the audience and turn it into a completely improvised romantic tale. Every show brings new names, new characters, new twists and a brand-new romance. We play everyone from the lovers to their friends, family, rivals and the occasional person who probably shouldn't be involved.
Every love story is different. And once it's gone...it's gone.
Shakespeare On The Spot
The world clearly hasn’t enough Shakespeare, so in this solo spot your host (former university Shakespeare lecturer and current idiot) improvises some more from audience suggestions. It could get silly.
Big Questions
From the meaning of life to the mysteries of everyday existence, Big Questions explores the things that make us think, wonder and laugh. All through completely improvised comedy.
Swipe Right
Your hosts! We perform our show Something Just Happened, Wombat Combat, or possibly something else - either way, it's likely to feature the relationships you want to see, and the relationships you may rather you hadn't.
The Jam!
Once described as 'the best improv jam in the south of England' our jam is typically made up of two or three person scenes. For your inspiration in these, you can either take an emotion from our patented 'emotometer' or receive whimsical words from a sweet treat.
It's a supportive, warm space for performers and audience members alike to jam and, usually, everyone who puts their name in gets a turn. Any questions, come find one of us (Andy, Carly, Robin and Rosie) on the night and just ask - if you want to be on stage, we'd love to have you there!
