Solo Jazz workshops with Sharon Davis! Each Solo Jazz workshop is different and may explore a particular jazz dance style, advanced vocabulary, rhythm, technique, musicality, improvisation, choreography or historical material. Level: this is an Intermediate to Advanced level solo dancing workshop. Class may include learning choreography and/or freestyle improvisation.
Prerequisites: you don't need to know every step we will cover, but this class is not for beginners to vintage jazz dance. You should know the Shim Sham routine, 1920s Charleston basics and classic jazz steps such as Fall Off The Log, Suzie Q, Boogie Drops, Fishtails, Truckin, etc. You should be comfortable dancing from slow to fast tempos.
This is a solo dance class, no partner needed.
