ABOUT USDD ACADEMY
Are you looking for professional street-dance training in London?
USDD Academy is launching a limited one-year dancer-development programme in Elephant & Castle for people aged 18–25.
The programme will operate during the 2026–27 academic year only and will not continue in the same format afterwards.
Led by experienced street-dance artist, choreographer and educator Lexi Maize, alongside selected local and international guest teachers, the programme will help dancers develop the technical, creative and professional skills needed for performance, freestyle, battles, teaching and the wider dance industry.
WHAT DANCE STYLES WILL I LEARN?
Training may include:
• Hip-hop
• Breaking
• Popping
• Locking
• House
• Krump
• Waacking
• Afro dances
• Dancehall
• Commercial dance
• Cultural dance theatre
• Freestyle and musicality
• Choreography and performance
• Battle and competition preparation
• Teaching and leadership skills
USDD’s approach combines strong foundations, French and UK street-dance influences, cultural understanding, creativity and individual expression.
WHO IS THIS STREET-DANCE PROGRAMME FOR?
The programme is for committed emerging and experienced dancers aged 18–25.
You do not need to be a professional dancer, but you should be prepared to train consistently, explore different styles and develop beyond a casual weekly class.
WHAT OPPORTUNITIES COULD BECOME AVAILABLE?
Depending on development, commitment and suitability, participants may be considered for:
• USDD performances and productions
• Theatre and cast opportunities
• Battles and competitions
• FAST TRACK development
• Teaching and assisting opportunities
• UK and international projects
• Training with specialist guest teachers
These opportunities are not guaranteed and are earned through progression and professionalism.
HOW MUCH DOES THE TRAINING COST?
The first month costs £75 once the programme is confirmed.
You will not be asked to pay for the entire year upfront. Dancers who continue will renew their training monthly.
