About this Event
Nano is a DJ, a cook, and a maker who works through hand stitching to express their process and connect with others. What drew us to Nano is the way they create through Odoru stuff: led by feeling rather than influence, finding their own journey rather than tapping into social media for it. Their work isn't made for monetary value but for social exchange, the kind that keeps them included and connected to the community they value.
So we imagined a lunch held by story and by play. We'll share food Nano loves to make, bring another cultural twist into the mix, and sit with a simple idea: showing up is how we build our resilience. Connection is an exchange. Every time we show up, we’re investing in a community that will have our back.
This event is part of Growing Healthy Communities, a series that brings people together around food in Carlton. Every event is a chance to share a meal, meet new people and make friends. Some come along on their own, others with a friend, and everyone leaves with something in common. Through food, culture and connection, we also explore what a secure food system looks like and how we can build one together. The program is designed mainly for university students, and everyone in the Carlton community is welcome.
Growing Healthy Communities is funded by VicHealth.
