About this Event

As the colder months approach, it’s a good time to think about how to stay well, active and independent throughout the winter.
Age UK London, working in partnership with NHS London, are delighted to invite you to a Question & Answer session discussing all aspects of staying healthy over winter.
Taking place on WEDNESDAY 11th NOVEMBER from 11am to 1pm followed by a light sandwich lunch - we will be discussing exercise, diet, mental health, keeping warm, staying hydrated as well as eligibility for vaccines including flu, covid, RSV, shingles and pneumonia.
The venue will be
LUMEN United Reform Church, 88 Tavistock PLACE (corner with WAKEFIELD STREET) London WC1H 9RS

Our guest speaker will be practicising GP Dr Oge Ilozue. The event will be Chaired by Tony Burch, Retired GP, Volunteer Vaccinator and Age UK London Chair of Trustees. Each person will get a chance for their questions to be answered and can submit qurstions to Dr Ilozue either before the event or ask directly on the day.

We will be looking at:

  • What are the best ways to stay healthy this Winter?
  • Do we really need a another covid booster and who is eligible?
  • Do I need to take vitamins if I eat a balanced diet?
  • Is the flu really that dangerous?
  • How much excercise do I really need to do?

Age UK London have posters & leaflets for distribution and can provide groups and organisations with robust information to spread the message across London. Lets help each other to stay safe and healthy this winter.
Last winter, flu was estimated to have contributed to nearly 4,000 deaths in England. Encouragingly, the flu vaccination programme also helped prevent around 100,000 hospital admissions and 7,000 deaths, so what protection is available to you?

Join us for a relaxed and informative question-and-answer session with a practising London GP, who will explain the latest advice, answer your questions and help you feel more confident about looking after your health this winter.
