About this Event
RIVYRS
Rivyrs are a genre-defying instrumental trio from Edinburgh, performing a dynamic blend of progressive, post-rock, and experimental music. Through their performance, Rivyrs convey the same joy felt in their studio sessions - inviting audiences to create live, in tandem.
ILAKKIYA MOHANRAJ
Ilakkiya Mohanraj (b. 2004, India) is a Tamil intermedia artist based in Edinburgh. Working across performance, sculpture and storytelling, her practice approaches language as material: something spoken, misheard, withheld and performed. Through subtle negotiations of knowledge and power, she controls how meaning is communicated through gesture, repetition and active attention.
Her recent works introduce another performer (a dear friend), exploring forms of intimacy as they unfold through language, conversation and synchronisation.
TRAMSURFER
Tramsurfer are an Edinburgh-based power trio performing what they call ‘party-prog,’ a mish-mash of classic prog, jazz-fusion, funk and punk. Finding an aesthetic line somewhere between existential terror and wilful silliness, their high-energy and virtuosic live shows have seen them connect with audiences across Scotland.
ALICE BARRENS
Alice Barrens is a performance-led multidisciplinary artist based in Edinburgh. Through her work, Alice explores lived experience, digital culture, attention, and the small humiliations that accumulate in everyday life; she situates these concerns within contemporary social and economic systems of exposure. Her practice examines patterns of voluntary endurance and masochism that have become normalised through constant surveillance and demand for self-optimisation.
