About this Event
The show will feature new material from her forthcoming debut album, RE:conciliation, alongside music from RE:birth. Piano, synths and her signature keytar remain at the centre of a full-band sound spanning cinematic jazz fusion, Japanese jazz-rock and acid grooves.
Since her first Edinburgh show, TC.KYLIE has continued her UK and European live run with performances at Ronnie Scott’s Upstairs, the V&A Performance Festival and A-Trane Berlin, alongside further sold-out dates.
Her November Scottish run includes The Jazz Bar, Dundee Jazz Festival and The Glad Cafe in Glasgow, following sold-out Edinburgh and Glasgow shows during her first Scottish dates earlier this year.
Formerly a journalist for Hong Kong’s public broadcaster RTHK, she brings a documentarian’s sense of narrative, observation and emotional detail into her music. Drawing from Hong Kong, Japan and the UK, her sound blends modern jazz, Japanese jazz-rock energy, acid grooves, SEGA retro gaming textures and Studio Ghibli-inspired nostalgia.
With her signature keytar at the centre of her live identity, TC.KYLIE creates high-energy instrumental music that is cinematic, rhythmically charged and visually distinctive. Her sound brings together the harmonic richness and improvisational energy of jazz fusion — with influences including Shaun Martin and Hiromi Uehara — and the momentum of Japanese jazz-rock and acid-jazz artists such as fox capture plan and jizue.
Following her debut EP RE:birth and a UK and European spring run — including Ronnie Scott’s Upstairs, the V&A Performance Festival and a sold-out debut at A-Trane Berlin — TC.KYLIE is now preparing for her second UK and European tour, RE:conciliation, marking a new chapter in her cinematic jazz journey ahead of her forthcoming debut album.
