About our Instructor – Khaled Zaki

Khaled Zaki is a stained glass artist whose work bridges the worlds of Islamic geometry and Art Deco elegance. Raised in Seattle by Egyptian first-generation immigrants, he was immersed in arabesque design from an early age, developing a deep appreciation for geometric patterns when drawing faces was discouraged. Mesmerized by the way stained glass transforms light and atmosphere, Khaled crafts intricate pieces that blend tradition with bold modernism. Beyond his art, he is a psychiatric nurse practitioner specializing in neurodiversity and cognitive health, bringing a unique perspective on perception and aesthetics to his creations.

About our Instructor – Lisanne Eng

Visual Philosphy Studio artist, Lisanne Eng, has long been attracted to glass for its eye-candy like vibrancy. Whether it is an art piece, a detail of a home or building, or a large installation in a public place, she finds joy in viewing glass in a variety of forms. While in graduate school studying mechanical engineering, she first learned how to work with stained glass as a creative outlet from studying a whole lot of math and science. Since then, she has created a variety of work ranging from window panels to lampshades and candle holders.
