About this Event
Following the success of our two previous conferences, Friends of Socialist China will mark the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China with our third annual Socialist China Conference, on Saturday 3 October, 10:30am–5pm, in London.
Location: Cypriot Community Centre, Earlham Grove, Wood Green, London N22 5HJ.
The event is organised by Friends of Socialist China, with support from a number of progressive organisations including the Morning Star, Communist Party of Britain, Workers Party of Britain, Communist Party of Ireland, Young Communist League of Britain, International Manifesto Group, Student Federation of India UK, CODEPINK, No Cold War Britain, Black Liberation Alliance, AKEL in Britain, Communist Party of Portugal (UK), Iskra Books, Praxis Press, Manifesto Press, Caribbean Labour Solidarity, Third World Solidarity, No 2 NATO, Assata Shakur Brigades, Birmingham People’s History Archive, Labour Affairs Magazine, Mushtarek Project, and Institute for Independence Studies.
In addition to opening and closing rallies, there will be panels discussions on:
- Resisting the new cold war and the threat of hot war
- AI, technology and the new quality productive forces
- Book launch: China's foreign policy and the making of a multipolar world
