About this Event
Lights, Camera, Action, Sisterhood!
βThis March, Sisterhood Between the Pages is going back to its roots! We are returning to our B.Y.O. Book format for a special celebration of "Book to Screen" adaptations. This is your chance to be the critic, the director, and the casting agent all at once.
βπ The Theme: Adaptations by Authors of Color
βWe are honoring the brilliant stories told by authors of color that have made the leap from the page to the screen.
βπ The Party: The Directorβs Cut
βPick any book by an author of color that has been adapted into a movie or TV show. Your mission is to prepare a mini presentation to share with the group.
- βThe Pitch: A 4-minute summary of your book.
- βThe Scene: Highlight your absolute favorite scene (and why it worked!).
- βThe Remix: Recast at least two roles. Who would you have hired to play these characters?
- βThe Creativity: Use Google Slides, PowerPoint, a hand-drawn collage, or even a mini graphic novel. Tap into your inner creative!
βThe Golden Rule: Keep your presentation under 4 minutes so everyone has time to shine!
