An empire on the brink. A family at its heart. A story that fills the screen.
Join us for the opening of SIFFA 2026 at Vue London Piccadilly, where an evening of conversation and celebration leads into the sweeping historical drama Nicholas and Alexandra (1971).
Directed by Franklin J. Schaffner and starring Michael Jayston and Janet Suzman, the film brings together the grandeur of the imperial court and the private anxieties of a family facing an uncertain future. Beyond the palace doors, a country is changing. Within them, love, faith and loyalty shape decisions with consequences far beyond the family itself.
Experience its lavish costumes, richly detailed interiors and intimate performances on the big screen, in the company of fellow cinema lovers.
The evening begins with a reception, followed by the official opening speech and our special screening.
