SHI(f)T HAPPENS
An intimate interdisciplinary performance weaving together original songs, spoken word and visual storytelling to explore the moments that shape who we are, the stories we tell ourselves, and the small shifts that quietly change the course of our lives.
Developed over twelve years of songwriting, lived experience and creative exploration, SHI(f)T HAPPENS marks a new chapter in artist and songwriter Máirín’s work. Through stories of grief, identity, relationships, change and resilience, the performance creates space for reflection, connection and conversation without offering easy answers.
Moving between humour and heartbreak, vulnerability and hope, SHI(f)T HAPPENS explores what it means to lose our way, find our way back home, and discover how even the smallest shifts in perspective can change the stories we tell ourselves. While rooted in one person’s story, the performance invites audiences to recognise echoes of their own, revealing how our individual reflections often illuminate the experiences we share.
