For a lot of whiskey drinkers, an opportunity to meet and drink with Steve Nally is one that you just don't let pass up. He basically took Maker's Mark from a brand making 32 barrels a week to hundreds of barrels a day. Steve then left Maker's Mark in 2003 to start a consulting business, and built Wyoming Whiskey from the ground up. In 2014, he moved back to Kentucky to retire... but that was short lived.
In 2016, after a night of drinking with a friend who wanted to launch a new distillery in the bourbon capital of the world, Bardstown, Kentucky, Steve was convinced to come out of retirement to launch Bardstown Bourbon Company. Today, Bardstown Bourbon not only makes some of the most interesting bourbon and rye out there, they also collaborate with other distilleries, as well as really cool cask finishes. They also do contract distilling, and are so good at it, the waitlist to get your whiskey made is about two years long.
