What is Y'all Sing?
Y'all Sing! is a drop-in choir where we pick a popular song (think karaoke tunes from folks like Tina Turner, Ricky Martin, Four Non Blondes), we listen to the song before we arrive, receive a lyric sheet upon arrival, learn the song in 2-4 part harmony together, and document our creation with audio/video/photos. No audition, no judgment, all fun. Proceeds are donated to a local organization. Great for our bodies, minds, hearts and spirits on so many levels, we love getting together to sing!
Next Y'all Sing
The next Y'all Sing! will be held at Mercury Project on Friday, Sept 18th, from 7:00 pm-8:30 pm. Come early to check out the space and hang with other participants. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Admission is $20 plus Eventbrite fees. If you'd like to come but can't cover the admission price, reach out to us at [email protected]. Free for kids under 12. 20% of proceeds from this sing will go toward Yanawana Herbolarios to support their direct outreach work with the Unhoused community in SA. How to Prep for Y'all Sing
Listen to the song a bunch before you come! We will not be learning the song, but the harmonies to the song, so it's important to already know the song as best you can. We learn aurally at Y'all Sing (by ear) and use a lyric sheet to help us with the words, so whether you read music or not, you'll still be able to learn the parts. Also, word of mouth is how folks learn about Y'all Sing the most. And it's more fun to sing with friends, so please spread the word and BYOB(bring your own buddy).
What to bring:
A water bottle, other beverages (alcohol permitted), a chair if you need a particular kind.
Late Entry
Please note that Y'all Sing begins right at 7pm. Late entry is possible while our volunteers are still in the lobby to receive you (until 10-15 after or so), but cannot be guaranteed after they come into the gallery space. The front door must remained locked after 7pm for safety. Due to those constraints, please arrive by 7pm to guarantee your admittance into the space (doors open at 6:30). Refunds or transfered tickets are not available for folks unable to enter the space due to late arrival.
Need Extra Support?
For those who are new or want extra support, you are invited to arrive at early (6:30 pm) for a brief orientation with Olivia. You can get questions answered and receive tips, as well as get help figuring out a comfortable part for your particular voice.
Illness Policy
Please be aware of your health coming into Y'all Sing! space. If you are activly sick or suspect you're getting sick, please stay home and join us another time. Masks welcome but not required in the space.
Cancellation Policy
To try to accommodate as many folks as possible, PLEASE NOTE NEW REFUND POLICY: We've extended our refund policy so that y'all can submit requests up to 48 hours before the event. We've also enabled a waitlist. If you purchase a ticket and end up not being able to make it, please submit a refund request so someone on the waitlist can grab your spot, OR if you end up not being able to attend within 48 hours of the session, please email us so we can release your spot to someone on the waitlist. Tickets are non-transferable to another Y'all Sing event.
