About this Event
We all have symbols we keep coming back to: a snake, an eye, a hand, a lantern, or a shape we can’t quite explain. This workshop is about finding the marks that mean something to you and putting them on the things you actually wear and use.
Bring a tee, tote, jacket, scrap of fabric, or something that’s been waiting for a glow-up, and spend the day at The Social Hermit turning your own symbols into prints. No experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to get a little inky.
Full day, 10 am to 3pm, $140. Start the morning with guided design time, exploring what your symbols mean and shaping them into your own original artwork. Then move into printing onto your own garments and fabric in the afternoon.
Half day, 12:30 to 3pm, $75. Join us in the afternoon and print straight from the riso screens we already have set up. Perfect if you want the hands-on printing without the design session.
Come make something that means something, and wear it out the door.
We'll be making this a social one, bring friends or come alone and make some new ones.
We welcome neurodivergent folks, people with psycho-social disabilities, first nations, BIPOC and gender queer folx, we have a diverse community so we ask that you leave judgement at the door and enter with an open mind.
We run these workshops on Wadjuk Boorloo Ngoongar Boodjar and acknowledge the traditional custions of the land, past present and emerging and pay our respects always.
