In 2007, Albertan songwriter Scott Cook quit his job teaching kindergarten in Taiwan and moved into a minivan. He’s made his living as a troubadour ever since, touring almost incessantly across Canada, the US, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere, averaging over a hundred shows and a dozen summer festivals a year, and releasing eight albums of plainspoken, keenly observant verse along the way. In 2026 he released his eighth album, Troubadourly Yours, with its first single “There Is a River” winning the grand prize in the Great American Song Contest and its second single "Frankie's Braids" taking first-place wins in both the Unsigned Only Music Contest and the Great American Song Contest. Scott has taught songwriting at camps and workshops around the world including Sisters Folk Festival in Oregon and Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas, and has been nominated twice as English Songwriter of the Year in the Canadian Folk Music Awards. Amid all the bitterness and division in the world, Cook's songs are an ongoing invitation to circle up around the fire. Fresh from the open road, these are sturdy, straight-talking songs that see the good in you.“Whip-smart, bone-achingly lovely, socially committed songs presented with a bold, elegant directness evoking the very best of the folk music tradition.” –Notional Space
"Captivating and thoroughly insightful... a jaw-dropping and delightful package of songs." –FolkWales
"He sings his heart and soul, and in doing so lets light flood into your own... He has a good eye for imagery, a gentle human touch, a wry sense of humour, a whole lot of integrity, a warm, rugged voice and a bunch of memorable lines... Truly one of Woody Guthrie's children." –RnR Magazine

Chris Honeman is a Maryland-based folk singer-songwriter whose music lives somewhere between weathered storytelling and raw emotional honesty. Drawing inspiration from artists like Ben Harper, John Prine, Noah Gundersen, and Ryan Adams, Honeman blends intimate acoustic arrangements with lyrics rooted in real life — love, grief, hope, soul, and the search for light in difficult seasons.
In 2025, Honeman released his debut album, October Pines, a collection of reflective folk songs carried by fingerpicked guitars, aching melodies, and stripped-down vulnerability. That same year, he was named a finalist in the Delmarva Folk Hero competition for Delaware, further establishing him as one of the region’s emerging voices in independent folk music.
