Az igen termékeny és sokoldalú görög énekesnő, Savina Yannatou a nyolcvanas évek eleje óta hazája egyik legjelentősebb, nemzetközi szinten is népszerű előadójának számít. A progresszív elektronikus zenével (Lena Platonosszal közösen készített nagylemezekkel) indult, azóta pedig a középkori daloktól az improvizatív műfajokig számtalan zenei szcéna felé kitekintő művész a Müpa közönsége számára is ismerős lehet, hiszen 2006-ban egyszer már fellépett a Fesztivál Színházban. A kilencvenes évek közepén alapított Primavera en Salonicóval közös lemezein a tradicionális görög zenét és általában a mediterráneum muzikális világát adaptálja sajátos szónikus megoldásaira. A formáció albumai már hosszú ideje a jazz és a kortárs zene egyik legnagyobb kiadójánál, az ECM-nél jelennek meg, ahogy a 2025-ös Watersong is, amelynek anyagát most Budapesten is bemutatják. Utazás kultúrákon és zenei nyelveken keresztül, a tunéziai Lamia Bedioui énekével kiegészülve.///
The highly prolific and versatile Greek singer, Savina Yannatou has been considered among her country’s most significant performers since the early 1980s. She began her career performing progressive electronic music (releasing several albums with Lena Platonos), and has since explored a vast range of musical worlds, from medieval songs to improvisatory genres. The internationally acclaimed artist is already familiar to the Müpa Budapest audience, having performed previously on the Festival Theatre stage back in 2006. In the mid-1990s, she founded the ensemble Primavera en Salonico, with whom she has created albums that adapt traditional Greek music and the broader musical world of the Mediterranean to her own distinctive sonic language. The group’s albums have long since been released on ECM, one of the most prestigious labels in jazz and contemporary music, and their latest album, Watersong (2025), is no exception. They will now present the material from this collection of songs in Budapest. This journey through cultures and musical languages will be enriched by the voice of Tunisian singer Lamia Bedioui.
