About this Event
The Drum is a guide and an ally in life, a tool our ancestors have carried for thousands of years. It can be played as an instrument, and in ceremony it is also a bridge, a connection to spirit, to our ancestors, and to the spirit guides, helpers, and loved ones who walk with us. Through the Drum, we tune deeply into our own heart, until its resonance comes into balance and grounding, meeting the beat of the Drum as one.
This is one of six sessions across the seasons, each one bringing the Drum you've made at home off the shelf and into your everyday life, building real support and connection you can carry with you.
At Samhain, as the nights grow long and, in the old Celtic tradition, the veil between the living and those who walked before us grows thin, this is a time to honour our ancestors. The Drum becomes our way of doing that, its sound and hum meeting our own breath, carrying us gently toward them. If there's someone you've lost, you're welcome to bring something personal that connects you to them, and let them sit with you in the circle a while.
This is a space to honour your loved ones, held gently, in the company of others.
Led by Dean McCarthy and Julie Davies. They trained together with the School of Sacred Drumming, and are both Reiki Masters who have worked together for many years.
Held at Studio Ninety in Hackney, capped at ten so it stays close and personal. Doors open fifteen minutes before start, and the ceremony runs around two hours. This ceremony is for people aged 18 and over.
Bring your own Drum. This is for people who have already made their own Drum. We don't have spare Drums to lend on the night.
