Dr. Abirami “Abi” Shanmugaratnam is a chiropractor, clinic director, and performance coach specializing in hybrid athletes and the high physical demands of HYROX-style training and racing. With a background in Kinesiology from McMaster University and experience as a varsity track & field sprinter and rugby athlete, Abi brings a performance-driven approach to running mechanics, efficiency, and injury prevention.
With over 10 years of coaching experience, she has worked across rehabilitation, community fitness, and elite sport, supporting athletes from everyday gym-goers to professional and Olympic-level performers. Her approach bridges clinical expertise with real-world race demands, helping athletes run stronger, move better under fatigue, and build long-term durability.
Abi is passionate about optimizing running performance within hybrid competition environments, empowering athletes to train smarter and perform at their best while staying healthy.
