Dear Friends,We are so thrilled to announce our line up for our Fall Poetry Salon, the second installment of a new event series! This salon is a 90 minute event with a 10 minute intermission. We'll be celebrating the 4 following poets, so we hope that you'll be able to join us for this autumnal event.
Our Fall Poetry Salon will take place on Sunday November 15th from 5:30PM-7:00PM. This is an in-person reading at A Room of One's Own Bookstore. Masks are required during the event.
Featuring Blaine Purcell, originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, they are currently pursuing their MFA in Poetry in UW-Madison's Creative Writing Department.
Featuring S. Yarberry, a trans poet, writer, and scholar. They join us with his rapidly forthcoming sophmore poetry collection, The Robert Poems, "A speculative poetic history reimagining Robert Blake, the brother of the poet William Blake, as a trans man in the eighteenth century."
Featuring C. Russell Price, who's new collection Bisquick: An American Seance explores spiritualism and the fetishization of the Midwest cowboy aesthetic. "A breathtaking gallop through spectral planes, grief, and ghosts." Price is the poet in residence at the Chicago Poetry Center and works with The Anarchist Review of Books.
Featuring Kira Tucker, the author of the National Poetry Series-winning collection, Wildest, forthcoming from Akashic Books in December 2026. Wildest is also her debut collection.
We hope to see you there!
