Resting in the Arms of Morpheus @ Den Anden SideFriday, October 30, 17:00 - 22:00 │ No Selection │ Vernissage

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘢 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘸𝘯?
𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘳𝘮𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘔𝘰𝘳𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘶𝘴 brings together 15 Copenhagen based artists working across photography, video, sculpture, painting, light, text, installation, graffiti, design, and performance at Den Anden Side. Centred around sleep and the dream state, the exhibition explores the unstable territory between consciousness and unconsciousness — where time stretches, reality shifts, and familiar images can take on new forms.
Rather than recreating a dream as a singular narrative, the exhibition creates a fragmented dreamscape through a constellation of works. Moving through the space, visitors encounter images, objects, light, text, moving bodies, and digital works that exist alongside one another, creating moments of intimacy, disorientation, recognition, and unease.
The exhibition draws on the figure of 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗵𝗲𝘂𝘀, the Greek god associated with dreams and the ability to take on human form. His realm becomes a metaphorical framework for the exhibition: a space where reality is temporarily suspended and where the boundaries between body, image, memory, and imagination become porous.
The exhibition brings together works by: Ada Ada Ada, Bartek Arobal, Cio Balkastorm, Kinga Bartis, Velvet Bejarano, Agnete Bertram, Magda Buczek, Jesper Christiansen, Lea Guldditte, JUFI, Oskar Koliander, Mathias Mons, Mikkel Nielsen, Rine Rodin, Spyo.
At Den Anden Side, a space normally associated with nightlife, movement, music, and altered states, Resting in the Arms of Morpheus introduces another kind of temporality — one that is slower, quieter, stranger, and suspended between being awake and being asleep.
