About this Event
BayREN, StopWaste, and Franklin Energy present:
Resilient & Healthier Homes for Real Estate Professionals
Monday, November 30 | 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Insurance questions, high energy bills, and worries about smoke and power outages are coming up in more Bay Area listing and buyer conversations. Buyers are asking what a home will really cost to run, whether it can be insured, and how it will hold up when air quality drops or the grid goes down. This class covers what makes a home healthier, more efficient, and better prepared for wildfire, and how to talk about it with clients so they can make informed decisions.
We'll cover:
- Indoor air quality, heat pumps, induction cooking, and water
- Solar, battery storage, and EV charging
- Home hardening and defensible space
- Wildfire insurance and when to refer clients to a professional
- Home Energy Score and other certifications
- Rebates and incentives, including BayREN
You don't need to be a building scientist or insurance expert. Knowing which questions to ask and who to point clients to goes a long way when they're worried about their home. You'll leave with a set of trusted resources to share.
